Me, Myself, and I

$850.00

Me, Myself, and I features three female figures. One is wielding a bloody knife and patting the middle one on the head. The middle one sits, legs spread, in a chair, with a bleeding slice down her spine as well as cuts along arms. The third is kneeling, eyes white with horror, nose bleeding.

I made this based on a poem I wrote called “Shh”. the final verse is:

in my final moments, with a dying breath

i hoist up this body, nearly rendered inept

drag my limp self to the bathroom mirror

though my eyes are bloody, it couldn’t be clearer

the killer caresses my curly hair

then lowers my gently into a chair

as my spirit moves on to the next plane

she instructs me not to feel any shame

after years of confusion, may the truth set me free

because all along the killer was me

acrylic on canvas
